Hi all,

im currently starting my 3rd railway as we moved house last year, I will document its building when progress is made, luckily the garden of our new house hasn’t been touched since it was built, the railway will be built in 4 sections, each side of the garden. Fences and plants will be sorted as we go.
i have started on the right hand side, this is where the US station and village will be. R5s will be used on the outside and R3 on the inside. Grey slabs will be used as the trackbed with bricks at the side when 4 tracks are required.
the track bed will eventually be edged with bricks to improve how it looks and help to keep the ballast in.

You've hit on one of my fetishes there. In the last picture, the inner loop does a double reverse curve on the first point of the station throat. Have you thought of swapping the RH and LH points over? I think it might give a smoother flow into the four-track area

Some track has been permanently fixed down, the two main running lines are the tracks on the fence side, the wagons are on what will become a loop with the buffers at the end of the siding, the siding and loop will both be extended by about 4/5 feet, the outside running line will be US based so I will be using my aristo track where possible

hopefully be able to crack on with laying the slabs now BBCE23D7-E572-494A-82B9-F9D3CB7AE9CA.jpeg149A5248-5A03-4088-9B38-0A37689E0D69.jpeg16E436EC-333B-4DE0-A6B1-2A40C359E5DA.jpeg

Two bridge supports have been fixed in position, this will carry the American aristo track, I will be ordering a bridge for the inner main line soon

Top left corner is now complete, some details have been added,

the middle line will become a bay platform with the 4 other lines being through platforms 06DB9765-DEC1-4BC4-AB4E-50CAB37AC5F1.jpegF2B860F4-EA8B-4473-BEC3-DB6AAA9CFAC5.jpeg2EE25FC2-1AC5-4FC5-9434-3795F016842A.jpeg144852AD-AFB3-45CE-AFF0-C6CBD3A549E3.jpeg99F13CA6-B081-4371-AF0C-C6FFFA9E853D.jpeg64548D43-737E-44C5-9555-95665D4A69C3.jpeg155721A4-CDCF-4652-AF5E-B113B5DE8647.jpeg

Shaping up nicely. Of all the different trains featured in the photos so far that little greenish steamer with the two 5-window carriages is my favorite.
Track plan looks to offer a sufficient mix of running and switching.

The main station area is now taking shape, the station building will move to the left when the slabs are laid, hopefully giving platforms around 14 ft long
