You're moving right along at an impressive pace..........I'll play the devils advocate though. Have you thought about the tree, behind the shed ? It's root crown will wreak havoc with the tracks so close.

First real run this year, the new Saxon box car was out for the first time, and the first trains used the inner lines platforms, running from the station to a freight loop on the opposite side of the garden, as you can see I’ve started to replace the fences, with the gravel boards providing something solid to work up to, over the next few weeks the station area will be made permanent and track laid permanently, then onto the back fence replacement over the EasterF39BAA59-60D0-46FF-B9AF-258BB4539710.jpegEBE1837E-FCE5-4AEE-9E1B-EF3DE536FD1D.jpeg6258F67A-B700-4EBD-9C8D-BCBFC71CA0CE.jpeg3B0DC5E1-053B-4877-86F6-FDED03C0CF68.jpeg88A9E992-0131-4186-BCA4-0D97D9E5C859.jpeg660EEE2D-65D6-4786-9234-FF5D77A12328.jpeg

Bit of an update, over the summer I connected the outside loop by laying a temporary track down on wood, rocks were added to the back permanent section as well as a few pics from a running session I had earlier this month

Last week I decided to do some remodelling of what will become the lower rack station, I decided to give the rack a longer run so it has been extended into the village, today I managed to get the ballast down , there’s a few more buildings to go out as well as having to test the new section of line. The two freight depots that were in this corner of the layout have been relocated .

would love to see a diagram of your track plan
Here's the current overall track plan, at the moment the inner loop is not connected due to the pending building work. also the rack will start to climb into the house extension when its built. All track is a minimum lgb r3, with the outer being r4/5.

Decided to relay the bottom of the rack today, it will eventually climb up into the hole next to the top of the doorway in the extension, you can also see the hole for the mainlines just above the engine shed that will be relocated
