Hi Guys,

Just thought It was about time I posted some pictures of my line,

The CWLR was originally a 2ft 6in gauge stone carrying railway that closed in the late 50's. It has since been re-opened by preservationists to serve a country park (think Dinorwic only smaller!), carrying visitors and freight in and out, utilising the surviving Locos and Rolling stock from the original line. The line runs from the Village of Charlwood to Lake, one of the (now flooded) quarry workings which is used for pleasure boating etc.

The line is still a work in progress, so things are changing (and hopefully improving) continuously, in fact, a couple of places along the line now look slightly different, just 1 week after these images were taken!

Loco No. 2 at the bottom of the steep climb into Lake Station

Later, on the same day, No. 2 finds itself collecting a single wagon from Lake siding

No. 2 (I do have other locos.... Honest!) Drifts past cottage halt with an afternoon train, the rather tired cottage will soon be replaced with a nice new one!

A short distance down the line, No.2 passes the former Quarrymans chapel.

At the end of a long, hard days work, No. 2 "Charlie" cools down in the evening breeze outside Charlwood Loco Shed.

Hope you like!
Cheers
Rob

Hi James,

Thanks for the kind comments,
All of my buildings (bar 2, the engine shed and Lake's station hut) are model town buildings, the station is the oldest and needs a few repairs (most notably the roof) and the church still needs its finishing touches!

Cheers
Rob :)

Does anybody have any ideas about how to model lead flashing along the apex of a roof? I've thought about using individual squares of painted card?

Sunday service

Today was a short train kind of day;

No2 waits for the return of its fireman who's gone off to find the signalman,

The local snapper points his Leica at the porter and guard as they contemplate unloading a couple of bikes from the van,

A short time later no2 and its train are seen pulling away from Lake,

Re:Sunday service

A nice, gentle day's running. I've never seen the inside of an LGB carriage before, btw. I knew they had seating but was amazed to see such details as the straps for opening and closing the windows.

Re:Sunday service

Had my first proper running session for a few weeks today. Afraid there aren't many pictures yet as I've been mostly fixing things or hiding in the shade!

Anyway, here's Charlwood between trains;

And Lake between trains;

And Lake Siding as Charlie passes;

I'll hopefully have a few more pictures to post later!

Re:Sunday service

A shot from the Guards van balcony as the train curves onto the back straight, the driver will need to give the regulator a good blast in order to get up the bank;

the train climbs the bank away from cottage cutting;

and later on passes the currently unoccupied shop and shop halt;
