I was going through some pictures from when I first broke ground on the KMRR. When looking back I would have nevere thought my RR would look as it does today. Here are some pictures from the begining.

How long ago did you start Shawn? And why did you take the stream out? It looks really nice.

I started a little over two years ago. I took the stream out because of leaks and high maint. I do plan on putting another water feature in but when I do I want to to do it right. I have the spot and also plan on doing a covered bridge over it. Maybe next year.

Your pic of the logging camp with the sawmill with the very rusty roof, is just the inspiration I needed. I only have a long skinny area for a mill and yours will fit the bill nicely. Thanks for the idea.

Greg the sawmill roof is made from metal coffee cans. I originally wanted a larger sawmill but then saw some neat pictures of portable ones. Because of the small area a portable one fit better plus I like to keep the structures smaller giving a more backwoods feel. Cant wait to see what you do to your area.

HI shawn so i like this photos of wooden tunnel portals tht steam come out so are they scatcbuiltin or ?......
so i wud be very happy if u cud possible take a close shots of wooden tunnel portals tht im doing built it..many thks,,,aslo lovely layouts and neat lines!!!!!......aslo snow!!!

I built the portals by just looking at some pictures. Here is some shots taken close up. Hope it helps if not let me know I will take closer ones if needed. I tend to build everything by eyeballing it. Doing it that way things dont come out perfect. Most backwoods logging lines things were built to serve a purpose not for looks. Plus it adds character to a line.
