Hi Pete
Whats this then making a move to the Rio Grande
That ML4000 is a very nice model that Rob's made did you see the one Dave Hubb built very nice

I liked the model but could not really justify it until I saw Robs thread about these , then |I saw the video of one in New York, then I saw one , wanted and got, and no, this is a one off Rio G loco, and its on trial

A while ago I started to rework a crumhack that I was given by Steve Large,
I wanted it to look like a Cornwall type, its still not finished but gave it a paint wash today, not sure if it will dry OK was so cold

It started life as a standard Bachman, and was a bit oversize but cut down looks Ok for me. Need to letter it and add some new handrails, shown next to a new one that I have got to also cut down into something else.

half my railway was mashed with a tree falling on it, the branch line was used as a footpath by the tree doctors, and the stumps are just as bad as the trees that were there????

Good to see you have made a start on your ML4000 Pete

half my railway was mashed with a tree falling on it, the branch line was used as a footpath by the tree doctors,

Tree doctors.....that devastation could be done by only one of them! 8|

I am sure that you will have the line up again and back to its best days as soon as the weather improves.

What are the make of wheels and the size of washers that you use Pete?

The wheels are accucraft, cat no Z6 there are different diameters, I get them from Trackshack IOM, and the washers are plain steel 12mm hole, they sit inside the rim perfectly, around £4 per 100 from a hardware store loose,
I may just rip all the track up and start again, some is so badly bent its just about scrap, there is also a lot under the branches in the feild , looking for another house methinks.

Hi Pete
Looks like you could turn your branch line into a logging line , can't believe the mess the tree doctors have made of your track  hope you get it up and running soon :thumbup:
Looks like you could do with moving some bulbs

I have been running locos today, mainly to keep the batteries charged up, I also got a feww small jobs done that were waiting for a little finishing off, I got the turnouts in the box yard connected to the levers finally, that made more fun switchings cars around, , It got really cold and windy at 2pm so packed up early,

Nice point work Pete  good to see some sunshine had none of it here all weekend .

Thanks Richie, we got a few hours sun today not enuff to take my hat off to!! I have started planning what to do with the mess of the rest of the railway, as its in full view of the roadway now and also the house, I want something to blend in, and just be plain running track with no loops or turnouts, I am thinking of using electrical cable tray plate as a support for the track bed,and use unistrut type of system for supports, If I am clever enough I should be able to dismantle the lot for re-use when I move house again,

Its the windeier than usual season here, so spent today tidying up the workshop and putting things away,, plus finding three of everything never been opened, and a new one just got,
I went to the local model club yesterday, and took some stock there, I also brung some home,
this is a G scale track built around the edge of the clubrooms by one bloke,as you can see the layout looks very well done and all my stuff that is used to big outdoors seems happy to run on lgb track and even gets thro R2 pointwork with finescale wheels and KDeee couplings, the 'old time' loco and stock belongs to other club members,

And theres me thinking you had a Rio Grande Bumble Bee loco and coaches
How was your PA on R2 track work with Kadee couplings as my PA with the USA Trains couplings only just run on R3 .

The PA still has its USAT couplings fitted and the streamliners have the aristo knukles albeit shortened, as usual the usat keep uncoupling themselves randomly, I will be taking a few more items with KDees this week to try them will take a pic
