i got the effort together to clear my bits box out and even ran some very short trains around the remaining track, the new support steel work is just waitng for the top cover when i get some dosh, the new track plan is sketched out , am also thinking of a revamp at the other end so have a place for trains to go to when they leave the branch line,
I ran the searchlight waggon in the dark I got from Mr Riley and its real fun, the wildlife go quiet,I like it when it goes through the tunnel,

A nice sunny day here so got geared up for some constructive planning, with the help of graham Mills and a circle of track to test my theory we set to, the challenge was to see if a helix would work outdoors and if there was enough space and its visual impact before major landscaping,

I had marked it roughlu with a peice of string and a hose pipe and some woodchippings but using the track made it a lot easier, thanks Graham,
there was a few tree things in the way of progress but they are now warming the house,

I also decided to attack the bramble patch, there is a hope my landlord will allow me to use this wasteland ,short of siding space as you can imagine,

Great looking track work Pete like the idea of a spiral

lookin so far good.....keep up the work mr spockie........

Some time ago I got a Piko loco that I cut down, to make it less top heavy looking, at the time I did not keep any pics about the amount of re working I did,

I goyt another from Mr two jags and have took some pics this time before demolishing it, I thought it would re work as a USRA six wheeler with slope back tender, and I also had a cab from an aristo loco that has been re worked on another thread on here, the tender came from Mr Funadtrains, so its going to be a real bitza, the Piko cab has been allocated to the small porter switcher project so a lot of bits in my box

Should be interesting !

The Piko saddle tank loco looks so much better with the valve gear painted black.

Bright sunshine and gale force winds, I made some progress on the little porter using left overs from the USRA loco,
still held together with blutac but the idea seems to work

I checked I could get the battery inside the tank, and it runs fairly smoothly, needs to be all screwed together next and wired and painted
