Stainz, Stainz and even more Stainz

I've said it before, my Stainz locos of which I own a whopping 3 are my best runners. Following close behind are my two Bachmann Davenports. But let's not switch tracks on this thread. There is something about the Stainz that makes it a good runner and puller. I don't really know what it is though. My 2090 diesels and my Spremeberger, ( spelling ), are excellent runners but will not pull a load like my Stainz.

Thats the Earlier one of the Brown Stainz, no lettering on chassis, Raised rear power sockets,Black Hand wheels, lens on lights and later style rear coupling, so would date around 74/75, Slightly earier would have the round rear coupling and possible no lens, only painted housing

BTW what version whistle

Hi Guys
Can anyone talk me through replacing both wheel sets please.

Still cant find a K3 for sale though[/QUOTE]

Are you still looking for a K3? I have one in kit form it needed a motor but i just never got around to it.

I seam to remember selling a couple of Stainz when I had a Sales Stand at the Garden Railway Show held at Van Hagens Garden Centre Anwell near Ware Herts some Years back. One was a brown one the other I forget. Both were vintage and I was glad to be rid of them. My stand had a Gazeebo over the Footpath near the Loco Shed of the Railway there.

Did anyone from here get them. If so I am sure you were happy with the price, but how are they now?

if you get enough parts to build up a Stainz that you plan to sell. Let me know, trying to get an engine to run on my railway again. Been without an engine for awhile now. My limited income has prevented buying much of anything for awhile. Services to help adults on the spectrum is poor here in the states. Love the pics of all the Stainz engines though!
