I think that is only for the very early Stainz. The No 3 was a shorter one. Nothing that a man with a drill cannot fix!

The extra parts are for the older stainz and needed for all the split case Stainz and some of the newer stainz including the American 2015/2017 versions.
LGB now sells shorter stack in the newer locos and do not have the 'lever' switch on the bottom.
