You get quicker the more you do. Not having done a lot of brickwork since 2013 my time is now much longer and les accurate. Good job I am not being asked to build a 2 story house.

If the brick is a wire cut brick, then specials can be made in moulds ................. to any shape or size (within reason)

Ibstock ran the 'Special Ibstock' strap line for many years as they undertook to make virtually any special brick, but with quite extended delivery periods. Even so, life wasn't as perfick as some architects anticipated.

If you have a pier that is rectangular, you can tooth the wall into it, and cut the bricks as required without any need for absolute accuracy as it remains hidden. The main requirement is a strong mechanical bond, and up to the 60s that would generally have been achieved by brick bonding techniques; since then more mechanical fixing devices have been introduced largely as the result of more and more electric power tools

We had to achieve an 'off 90 degree' bend on one small structure, and ended up turning an external 90 followed half a brick later by an internal obtuse angle - all done with standard bricks that would have been around 1971

Back in the Steam railway days they made many specialist Bricks as they were making millions at a time, angled, curved, rounded it was an art form, but this works for me lets say i am taking liberties with LGB's adjustable scale rulers
