sound on massoth. could someone tell me how to turn the sound up using the massoth navigator. thanks

If there is not an external volume control, then it is normally CV200..

You should read the value first:
255 means there should be an external control somewhere.
Note the value, then increase it a little.

Check your decoder manual for the volume CV, on my latest LGB/Marklin loco it's CV 63. Set it to any value between 1 and 255 to suit, 255 being the loudest.
thank you for your reply my locos were done by G R S i never got any booklets when i got locos back.

Does the loco have a sound pot? They are an addition to Massoth decoders and are sometimes fitted but not always visible.
HI John no book to go with loco sound, so i dont know . its the 08 shunter out in the garden sound is very quite . thank you

You don't say which chips you have, but from the current Massoth configuration manual (Firmware v 4.0) (covering XLS, XLS-M1, XLS-Onboard, LS, S and S-PluG):

CV200 - Valid values are 1...63 or 255 - 1 is low, 63 is loud and 255 uses the value from volume control inputs on the decoder.

So I would try setting cv 200 to 63, which should give the loco it's maximum value if it has a Massoth Sound decoder.

The sound volume pot is not included with the Massoth decoder so likely if you did not specify one it would not have been fitted. Craig’s advice is sound if you can remember how to update a CV. Now that I do not have Barney if you still have problems happy to jump on a train to come and give you some reminders.
