Now that I've got your attention! :rolf: How about using any spare track and try scratchbuilding in 7/8ths for a bit of a change? Here are some pics for ideas. Alyn

Something draws me to model 2 ft/600 mm gauge!

Nice pix Alyn....

The purpose of all this industry?
Not the excavation of "The Broads"???

Nice video, Tim, I have seen some 15" locos using Briggs-Straton power units , fluid clutch, and chain drive, made by model engineers. I might one day (pipe-dream) build one. Alyn ps will probably stick to traction engines for live steam.

Alyn,
the photographs seemed to have an eastern European look about them (with no disrespect intended). Everything looked to be cobbled together from junk (maybe broken down Trabants!).

In so far as the video link I posted, it looks as if any competent welder/machinist could produce a similar locomotive. Is the "steering" wheel the throttle?

Ahhhhhh so I was close... its peat just the wrong location... The Norfolk broads are a flooded peat mine....

Why bother modelling it , surely it would be easy enough to build a real one :rolf:
Interesting , informative pictures as usual Alyn thanks for posting.
