Nice video, Tim, I have seen some 15" locos using Briggs-Straton power units , fluid clutch, and chain drive, made by model engineers. I might one day (pipe-dream) build one. Alyn ps will probably stick to traction engines for live steam.

the photographs seemed to have an eastern European look about them (with no disrespect intended). Everything looked to be cobbled together from junk (maybe broken down Trabants!).
In so far as the video link I posted, it looks as if any competent welder/machinist could produce a similar locomotive. Is the "steering" wheel the throttle?
