Well I got most of the things done (apart from the dummy windows on the duckets). Its been more time consuming than I expected (could have built a proper model).

Anyways a few pics .....

Testing tomorrow and windows (then a coat of varnish) .....

Thanks Alan. I set to this morning and made the ducket windows - black plastic (ex-45 tonner carve-up) glued on and edges touched. Then sprayed with satin varnish.

Took it round and round at the tail of the train (were else?) and had the odd derailment (or a few too many). One of the vans had a loose wheel which was easily sorted.

Testing also revealed another an odd problem - not encountered previously - the "tail" of the coupling hook (rear one of which the "tail" was leading) fouled the cross-over when coming off the bridge. There was also a change of levels which exacerbated the problem. Solution below....

I just hope all goes well with it in the trailer. The Bachmann Thomas range doesn't like R1s unless you fit the giant hook and loops!
