Smoke In The Garden

While some people's gardens were clothed in snow, ours was bathed in smoke. Lovely, aromatic, castor oil smoke!

I used to Operate at The builder of Pilgrim Diesels Locomotives on a fairly regular basis. Sometimes he would fire up one of his latest creations. To a Loco they all smoked like this one. And were very loud too, something like a Swarm of Hornets. Great fun.

I saw a video of a Pilgrim loco, it was mighty loud. This loco has the same engine but has a great big exhaust box that silences it. There's a lot of mechanical noise though.
