I had taken this OcCre motor unit for the Lisbon tram motorization kit for s.francisco | Kreativity World

however in the end I managed to remedy the defects of my self-built Lisbon motor unit using the non-motorized cart of the occre San Francisco motor kit.
besides finishing the Lisbon tram I now have an Occre motor unit left over.

so i started to build a small scale 1 Shunter cleaner for my indoor railway.

the cleaner is roughly built, after half a day it was already cleaning the tracks, I immediately discarded the idea of aspiring because it takes too much energy

the frame is capable of dusting by blowing. it also has a pad on which I can mount various detergent materials and work great

I had to put rubber rings to get traction. but in this way I lost the power connection from two wheels, so I also built some soft contact pads

1010579.jpg

the locomotive weighs a lot .. 1kg which is indispensable for moving and cleaning

1010582.jpg

with the connecting rods the traction is much improved.
the detergent pad is constructed in such a way as to hold abrasive paper, cotton cloths, or abrasive sponge as in the picture

1010583.jpg

I replaced the big fan with two smaller and more efficient ones, so that I also had the dimensions of the locomotive better proportioned

1010586.jpg

raw cover work started

1010588.jpg

the details are simple and almost all in wood, this locomotive must be a practical object to handle

today I noticed a mistake and I modified the front

Interesting idea to use a couple of fans to get crud off the Track. Trouble that I think you may find the smaller dust will be just made Airborne to land back in the Track. Have you thought about sucking it up into a receiving bin on the Loco? Fans should work like that for you.

there is non way to suck dust in loco because need a lot of energy.. if you try with a 1000watt home hoover you will need to be in direct contact with the surfaces to aspirate .. if you lift 2cm from the surface you will not suck anything.
also consider that the current passes from the wheels and pads on the track, I cannot certainly pass true track 20-30A for a brushless 12v aspirator
blowing is more effective at low energy and in any case I have to do the main cleaning with the brush, ladder and the compressor.

On model I have fit a lot of details, all pretty simple stuff made with brass wire and steel wire, nails, a few plates and the rest in wood ..
Bumpers are jeans buttons.
The hook is pretty ugly but for now it serves done in this way to pull even some wagons, maybe later I enrich it with some detail

I will have to put written labels but I still don't have a good way to do them.

the model was made "by eye" with the help of 3 photos so it is rather approximate in sizes, distances and details but I think it turned out quite well..
basically I used an Occre motor unit and materials that I had at home .. I bought only one color and a diode bridge to rectify the power of the LEDs

given that the Occre motor units could go out of production I am considering how to use Chinese gearboxes JGY370 double shaft 150rpm.
The next model I would like to build is an E60 locomotive based on this type of gearbox

WOW!

:clap::clap::clap:

You obviously have 'the eye' to see beyond what is in front of you, to the finished article. - I have difficulty with this.. :(

The problem was not having a good side photo but only a perspective one .. I didn't find much information about this North British 0-4-0
anyway, I didn't even care too much about the details, the minimum for an essential aesthetics.
it took about 10 days but I could better say 10 nights

If you hadn't told anyone that it isn't a prototype, no one would know. Anyway there is so many different class of small shunter it probably matches one of them perfectly
