It might be worth putting a bit of extra material behind the joints, other than just the bulkheads - as per Gregh's recent post on his tank loco. Plastics other bad habit is warping, but the seats and the roof should help with that. I would consider adding another (slightly narrower) layer to the window pillars to create a window pocket and stiffen them up a bit.
The coastal tramway is an execllent choice - it dosen't look like you'll have much difficulty making the trailer fleet. A long time ago I went on a day trip to Ostend for tramway enthusiasts - we rode the whole line on a newly delivered BN articulated car in the morning, and a traditional tram-train made up of museum stock in the afternoon & evening. It went dark before we got back, and the police stopped the train just outside Zeebrugge for failing to display a red light on the van !
