I'm just about finished with my first scratch built car. This will be painted for Montana Rail Link of course. I used an HO scale model for dimensions and then converted it with my 1:32 scale ruler. I've got over a month into this now and I'm waiting on a few commercial parts from USA Trains. This is my first ever attempt on scratch building so be gentle...

If the ribbing on the sides is individually applied stripping, you did a fantastic job with the joins and getting them parallel.
Yes it was. I used a square on the top and drew lines down the side. When I glued them down I used a straight edge to keep them from slipping out of place.

Looks good to me, always very satisfying to make something yourself.

Excellent work, Sir!!! I'm all for building stuff myself - that way I can look in the mirror and accuse the old guy there about the inaccuracies...
But if you made it yourself, to your own ideas and plans, how can it be inaccurate?
