Roundhouse Russell

I recently (last week actually) won this little beauty on Ebay. So I thought that I would share a Vid of some Test running that I have been carrying out today. It runs very well, but is not too keen on one of my Gradients and LGB R2 curves. The one that you see here is also R2 and similar gradient. So I am assuming that somehow I pinched the track on the non approved curve (that is not approved by Russell). I have been looking for a Black Russell for some time. But got thwarted by one at GRS as I hesitated a bit. Then I finally decided to sell my 2 Merlin locomotives to partially fund it. The wait was well worth it as this one has a Summerlea Chuffer and Lightline Lining.

my Russell will not do R2 either and is very fussy on points
I had a chat with Roundhouse - they said the newer ones have sprung pony trucks and added weight up-front but this is not available as a mod

To follow up on a few points raised.
1 - Sorry to have raised so much envy!
2 - The RC is has the 2.4 GHz set up with Spectrum kit. The guy that sold it is into Helicopters as well and had converted it himself. I must say that he did a great job.
3 - Re the R2 issue, I just find it off that it manages the other 2 R2's of the 3 sets that I have on my line.
4 - Re the springs on the pony trucks. Yes it does have them.
5 - Hopefully at sometime in the future it will get a full run on the Ruschbahn. Will be interesting to see her run up to Carolstadt beside the lake. This will happen next year, must remember to do a Vid of this for you all.
