Railway demise

minimans

Trains, Planes, Automobiles & Shooting
My railway has been somewhat neglected of late due to personel problems and to be honest lack of interest but I have decided to bring it back to life for a short while before an iminant change of circumstance forces the closure completley so I will document it as I go foward.........or backwards?

It makes me sad to see it as it is now and will not lift it in this state, so a clean up and run some trains for a fond fairwell is in order!! and of course a new railway will rise at some point in the future although probably more geared to the live steamers than the electric mice................

paul, its always sad lifting a line.. but, speaking from experainsce, you learn , you live, you re build it better than before:thumbup:

It's understandable, but sad all the same . You have some nice trees that could be salvaged .

Sad to say it's almost the same here Paul, I'm in the doldrums, have been for over two and a half years and the trick cyclist says it could be permanent; no interest in any of my hobbies and pastimes whatsoever. There is a lot of money tied up in the various hobbies I had, the only one that will ever break even is the railway, the others (like all good hobbies) are money gone. Still, I can't bring myself to sell anything on the offchance that the medical profession might be wrong and so I can genuinely understand what you mean. Live steamies though? Never thought of that, should we move to the Isle of Man?
Run one for me mate

Dang it Paul, thats too bad.
Are you thinking of rebuilding in the same place or is a move in the words?
I have not done squat to my own layout but the mostly due to having to store a bunch of junk that I am trying to Ebay away. Add to that this abysmal heat wave down here makes any outdoor layout work difficult and very unpleasant. Waiting for the cooldown.

Looks like a move is on the cards soon mate, not sure where or what we will move to. just that we have to move. I will take all the tree's of course luckily I have the room at the race track to store all the railway until we get things sorted out. Maybe a railway in the workshop? will bring a whole new meaning to the word "Testing"..............
My Buddy reckons we can get the train shed onto his big gooseneck trailer so that will come with us too!!

Well, one door closes, another opens. I think it gives you an opportunity to build again in the 'if I knew then, what I know now' system.

I'm sure it will be great.

Go for it.

Sad to hear that Paul, but I quite concur with Mike.
