The rotary scrubber car has been a useful part of the fleet for a while now. It has a pair of rotating brushes to clean dust and derbies off the rails.

IMG_8748small.jpg

It often operates in conjunction with the water tank wagon, which drips water on to the railhead to help remove squashed plant goo.

So over a period of time I collected a few yellow lgb wagons, and instant engineers train!
However it take a while to remove the end balconies from every wagon

Half of the overhead wire maintenance train (not that I have any overhead wires on the layout -yet).
A Hartland bogie flat with scratchbuilt crew cabin/workshop and a wire reel from a toy tractor+trailers set.....

For some reason, I have never taken a photo of the other half of the train (the tower wagon part) - will have to do that in the next few days & post on here

Tamping, or packing Andrew. Stuffing ballast under the sleepers to level the track. More usually done these days by a bloody great machine.

Some of my MOW locos.

Track Cleaner no 2067 is used to keep the track in good order.

Snow Plough no 2560 has yet to be used in anger.

Shoema no 60 is used to haul Maintenance trains as well as being used as a pusher loco for the first 2 engines if required. This one is yellow despite looking orange in the pix. I have 2 other proper orange ones (one currently stored unserviceable) and 2 red DB ones as well!

And lastly, my better half's Playmo no 403 loco which is used for track inspections. It is fitted with 2 Playmo Spy Cameras front and back to check the track which can be viewed on 2 hand held monitors.

All my MOW locos are in a yellow livery. Missing is no 92 my yellow RhB tractor loco....

Or as they would say these days in Modern Railways or new Railway speak a BGM.

Some of my MoW Kit,

Aristo Track Cleaning Wagon with a new body.

USA Bogie Kit with abrasive wheels monuted on a bidged up chassis.

Arist Caboose with a Wheeel Cleaning Setup.

image.jpeg
Needs a new Battery, will probably go for rechargeable NiMh,s 12v.

But none of those beat the good old LGB Handrolic Track Scruber.

This will become another track cleaner eventually. It was originally a LGB 2 axle wagon, but when I brought it second hand, it had been fitted with bogies.

I've recently acquired a chassis with track cleaning pads from ECR, which will be fitted under this resprayed body....2017-11-07 11.04.37.jpg

Hello all,
usually I post in scratch building but when you talk about MOW I have a consist I build for a friend in the eastern part of Germany. The GREEN WALL RAIL need a MOW. The pictures are self explaining. IR command control, mainly wood, a cheap plastic car and bits and peaces from the scrap box. Pictures on my storm crashed layout the consist survived.

You see a lot of coffee stierers but my heart had no problems with the number.

There`s a prototype for everything
