My question is this. There are some signs supplied with the kit which aren't pictured or described in the kit documentation. One is obviously a station name sign, ........

'Brett McBain ordered this sign, but he didn't say what he wanted on it'

'Station, ...... I said, put Station on it'

Quote from one of my favourite films (and actresses).

Looks fantastic, especially the rust effect.

I had one of these buildings on my garden railway. There was no room for it on the new indoor version, but I needed a hut. By sawing off the open bit with the seat, you are left with a nice lineside hut.

The half not used for the hut in the photo above has now been made into a triangular shaped building to go against the backscene.

Great out of the box use of the left overs. Be good to see a pic of it in place sometime. What you going to do with the rest, another corner piece with a scratch built front and side?

Hi, I’ll attach a photo when it is in place. That’s quite a challenge to see what I can do with the few remaining bits! I like a challenge.

A very nice structure. I have to confess at first glance I thought the thread title was Hammersmith Station!

More inspiration from this great forum. I bought the Hammerstein kit for my Rugen themed line. I wanted it ro be largely enclosed so I replaced the back panel with plastic sheet and fitted it to the front. I added a door so it is a little like the shelter at Wiek and other locations on the line from Bergen Rugen.
i Hope photos Show what i have done. Great value Building.

My halt suffered some damage during the recent storms, taking a dive to the footpath for the second time in its life and suffering some disassembly. My original plan to resolve any attempts to break free from its location centred around some pins in the baseboards at 4 corners. This has proved to be inadequate so the next replacement will include some ally angle at 2 locations to keep the building in place (hopefully). Below you can see the carnage created. The rear right bit of broken roof was lost on the first incident. This time the door finally lost its hinge pins.

C91212DB-168D-43FD-8468-21BBDF583546.jpegFirst up was to replace the hinge pins. This involved removing the remaining stump then drilling to put a couple of L’s of N/S wire. Initially made as a U then cut to L’s then superglued in place allowing for the door to open again.

Next to be done was to glue the central part in place, an overnight with clamp in place made sure this was held firm. I will also put some clear silicone on all the internal joins. Below you can see the weight on the end whilst the short wooden parts glued to the corrugated front dry.

Now waiting for some better weather to put back in position on the Railway, in the pics you can see the ally angle that will be used on the right end below the seats and inside the hut.

next part of this saga…

Bits of plasticard used to strengthen joints where currugated broke off.

Securing ally in place. One on the right was temporarily glued with test fit of building, then holes for screw to subase drilled for screws. Bits of bent wire passed through further holes drilled in building and side of the ally to keep building secure. Used brass mains wires for this as easy to bend to remove if I ever need to.

Ally has been sprayed matt black, building in place and wire now holding the thing firm.

All that is left is to add some gravel round the joints but that will have to wait for warmer weather so that the PVA will dry. Another little job mostly done.

Glue used mostly UHU Power but some plasticard type used to help secure waste used under corrugated where bits broke off.
