Playmobil RC mods

Has anyone tried modifying the Playmobil RC loco unit by fitting a better RC system?
I'm thinking of 40MHz or 2.4GHz.
Best to ask before dismantling!

This sounds good. I recently sold some redundant 27MH stuff, then bought the Playmo!!!(*)!

I'm thinking of using the inbuilt ESC, but with a 40MH FM R/X.

There are some other jobs with higher priority, but I'll get to it eventually.

Just wondered if the connections are easy to access, before I botch it up.

Nice loco, John.

Mine's a tram loco based on2 Porter cabs.

The line runs through the shed and out at the rear.
I think the rods in the concrete are causing some interference to add to the known shortcomings.

I'm in process of casting a tunnel mouth.
