Can I ask a silly question? I'm in the process of making up some IP engineering coaches and have almost finished. My problem is, what paint colour would anyone suggest for the door handles? I know they should be a brassy colour but I can't find any suitable paint

Yes, bought some recently - it's in the oil-based range

On this loco, just the vertical handrails on the tender have been painted with it - all the other stuff was already gleaming brass

Use the same myself. Remember to seal it with a varnish - matt, satin or gloss. Max
