Had to give the Lobelia a good back & sides so engines could pass!!

Even the difficult to grow ( well, for me! )
Lewissia is flowering again after I leant back & broke it off just before Nettys visit

That plant in the middle is coming out when it finishes fruiting (tayberry)
so paving will give access to this area

Up around the corner to the right,
just past those tippers,
a pair of points will divide into two tracks to form the start of a long run round loop
One track will run around just above that narrow gap but close to it.
The other one will be this side of it.

Looking the other way,
If you compare this with a previous pic,
notice that the drainage ditch is now overhung by the new slabs,
thus maintaining volume of flow,
but leaving a slot for debris clearing.
When track is laid either side, a wood plug with top panel will fit neatly(?) in place to save wheelchair wheels getting locked in
The two tracks will then curve round to the right & into the canal Basin,
being linked by points just under the bridge,
so as run rounds can be made
Between the track visible here & the new tracks,
a quarry track/ road complete with potholes & puddles is envisaged

Quarries can be dangerous places especially if you dont have 4 wheel drive

Around the curve,

Track side swept clean to keep grit out of tram type tracks

quarry track, other side of drainage ditch, with safety feature.

Larger rocks used to delineate edge of drop off

No fencing for this NG effort

Drainage ditch this side of the Austin Countryman, has two culverts to take storm water

one just by the barrels ( square)

& the other to left by last wagon partly seen

Been playing with some plasticard to make cosmetic bridge sides to add to the deck on the bridge above the entry to the Canal Basin


Drew a curve on piece of plasticard (80thou?)
