A thoroughly good afternoon out, despite the rain! I was there along with Stuart (Marshman) and a good number of the other North/Mid Essex bunch. I managed to get a run on the main circuit with both my Heidi and my 2095 Whizzy-cranks before the heavens opened, but it was too wet to get the Dingler out this time! (Fnarr....). Sadly the second deluge of the afternoon put paid to further running on the main line because water got into the control system, hopefully it will be OK when it's been dried out. Lovely pics, Steve, which really convey the atmosphere of this charming and very well-established line.
Incidentally the LGB pigsnout railbus was on its own separate circuit, running off an old Gaugemaster controller with a delay timer for the station halt, and it kept running without hesitation all afternoon including through the two torrential downpours! Sometimes there is a lot to be said for simplicity.....
Many thanks to the hosts for their hospitality today!
Jon.
