Novice enquiry re Piko 35028 analogue controller

Hi Paul. I sold my old Hornby kit after it languished in the attic for nearly 40 years & enquired of N W branch of G Scale society where to begin with the big stuff. John H & Phil S were very supportive & I’m in process of designing layout hopefully by Easter. Then I’ll need to purchase more track & rolling stock, hopefully used. I have some Thomas Tank items to amuse grandchildren, a Stainz starter set & just a couple of other items. I’m looking forward to meeting other members once lockdown restrictions are lifted. Michael, welcome to the forum, though I can't tell anything about the controller, as I am in the midst of converting to R/C battery power.
I haven't used this controller but have successfully used the 35040 to control 2 analogue tracks and a battery operated loco, this was before the controller you are considering became available, I would expect it to work just as well. Range is good so the receiver can be indoors out of the weather, the walk around key fob is handy in case of problems.

I did not found any description of 35028 in Piko catalog 2018/2019/2020/2021. So I don't know what your 35028 looks like !
However all my "system" control is Piko and I am very satisfied with this hardware (including my limited DCC use)

So it is a little bit mysterious
35028 might be 120 Volts powered

I have this system and am in the States. The 35028 has 5 amps and the remote is simple and has an emergency off feature that is useful. I have had no issues with it and it has more than enough power for a few of my locos. My understanding is that the system was designed for North America, so not sure how popular it is elsewhere or if Europe has different specs on the transformer, but it works well for me.
(I put it on a powered 'smart' outlet that I can shut off without going near it, or put it on a timer so I don't forget to turn it off at night.)
Range has been more than I needed. No line of sight, so I can change the speed from another room - even downstairs. I have gotten about 90-100' range when outside.

Piko calls the power supply a "transformer". I'm pretty sure it is a switched mode power supply. You could no doubt power it with a similar 19-22VDC 100w power supply designed for you home country's mains supply. A laptop power brick for instance. Just make sure you've got the + and - hooked up properly. Actually the provided power supply might very well be multi-voltage capable and just need an adapter plug. Many are these days. Perhaps 1to3 could provide a picture or tell us what the power supply label says.

Thanks everyone for your time & interest. Yes the Piko 35028 supplies power to the track not locomotives so it’s a cost effective alternative to digital for a novice like me. 1to3 says he has no problem with it in the States. There is 1 distributor advertising it in UK so on the basis that someone is happily using this I will make enquiries with them & report back once I’ve got my layout running, hopefully in the next month. Whilst somewhat similar, they are two different products.
Possibly with a 35040, one could use a transformer with max voltage rating of 22 volts, taking into consideration the Max Amp rating, using the Motor outputs connect these directly to the track and use it as a pseudo 35028.
