My pictures are okay, and when I click the link see Jon’s picture, when this happens to me it’s usually a slow connection.

I have not been able to see any pictures on the forum today, and if I right click and ask to open the image in a separate window, I get a message from those nice people at Amazon that the site cannot be reached.

I don't think I've changed anything my end, although the internet has been iffy these last couple of days.

Cheers

Rhino

Interesting, when I left click the link, the machination downloads 506k then sys it can't open the file.

Running Chrome browser on android x86.

I blame the delivery people, they do not always deliver things on time.

I am not seeing anything wrong with pictures/attachments though.

Does sound like a 'local to you' problem Mr Rhino..

Latency? - Do a speed-test, perhaps? :nerd:

S'funny, I can see today's pictures, but can't see the ones Dunnyrail posted yesterday, particularly about the up-cycled ex-tube trains

These are the piccies that I cannot see.

o I wanted to do a part trip (remember I do not like to leave Barney too long) which would involve X5 bus from the nits to Bedford and D Train to Stewartby plus return all possible within 4 or so hours. Not possible yesterday as the second set out was not running due to ‘Staffing Issues’ code for No Driver or Guard in the old days. But no such issues today so I set off. So here are a couple of images of my first run behind one after arrival at Stewartby a small shack miles form anywhere. But one was due the other way back to Bedford in 10 minutes so that was all ok.

At Stewartby I saw the Track Expansion Joint the reminded me of an LGB item that does a similar job, but perhaps for inspiration where Track Expansion could be an issue. Someone has been discussing this somewhere else in the Forum recently which prompted the image.

Stewartby also has a few old Brick Chimneys, perhaps Frank Spencer could be employed again to blow them up?

This super set of old Adverts were seen in Town in the way to the Station from the Bus Station.

Finally it was a Hot Day so some refreshment was required, me being me a Brew Pub if available would be top of the choices. This used to be the other Weatherspoons in Town. The still open one is just across the Road from the Bus Station. This place is at the top of what I would call the old High Street (shown on Maps as the A6) near the Goldington Road.

And here is proof of the brewing inside. Super Beer, I went for the Session Beer on a hot day!

So having copied an pasted them into another thread, they are now revealed :eek::eek::eek:

and another one ............

Oh, that hasn't worked quite as well - EDIT oh yes it has when I pressed Post

When I started drafting this post, I was planning to ask if anyone could help me untangle the origins of this 6-wheel diesel loco . . .

128852_951e114cc5aaff277070566b4b8c34e6.png

. . . that I bought on German Ebay last year.

At first glance, as a six-wheel diesel with jackshaft, it’s a bit like the LGB 2x59x HF130 diesels, but it’s much older as it has a clam-shell motor block. Also the cab is off a 2090-series (4-wheel) diesel, neatly extended downwards (and the grille, handrails and top engine cover are from the same product). The running board and sideframes look as if they are a single plastic moulding, but the side frames are much thinner than any LGB model I have seen, and there is one point where I think I see a glint of metal, suggesting the detail has been scratchbuilt onto a plasticard sideframe. Truly the work of a master craftsman!

If I keep this as my personal thread, I can see all the piccies

The smoke box door, chimney, dome, and safety valve bonnet were castings for a gauge 3 midland 1F
The tender was midlandised by panelling the sides altering the coal rails etc
The whole thing then was painted in midland colours with transfers from Fox
Here are some pictures showing progress and the finished model not necessarily in the right order

Repatriated to England via Southampton Docks, arriving at Quainton by low loader on 28th October 1991, she is now undergoing restoration. When it is restored it is hoped to operate a 3´ 6" gauge line, with appropriate rolling stock. This loco has been temporarily named Lynda.

Good Day All. Spent a pleasant last evening with my East penn Traction Club associates. Our monthly open house was at Jim Boylans in NE Philly, my old stomping grounds. Some pics for your enjoyment.

Day One of my Holiday I took an open top little number for a 60 min test drive. A metallic silver and black model with two tone grey upholstery, with those all important Yellow and White go faster stripes

YES!!! I got one! A very rudimental kit by Apocopa of the Billard A80D 4. Where the 4 stands for a specific version which was slightly larger ( 1,2 meter) and 20 cm smaller than the regular A80D. So I’ve been told. This specific version was in use exclusively by the RTM in the Netherlands.

I knew Apocopa made these kits but i did not succeed getting in touch by Max, the owner, until a few weeks ago. I had a friend who speaks French fluently call him to get all the details and order the Billard.

And today it arrived! In a wooden custom made box, very well packaged.

Now it only needs a few bits here and there... ;-)

I am SO happy to have this kit!!!! Hope to start it soon, but i first have to finish the Backer & Rueb.
