OK, so I'm not the sharpest tool in the depot but this could be of interest to me. I'm hoping to get my Tramway running this year. I will be supplying power via overhead return via the rails. Could I use this system supplying power externally using a reciever in each car with a keyfob for each?
My other method of radio control would be a RC led dimmer with keyfob control but that only gives me speed but not direction, but your system would give me speed and direction control...

Should work OK. Power supply needs to be 7-25 VDC.
