Hello Everyone My name is Heber Richins, I'm new to the Fourm. I'm 28 years old with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and a huge fanatic about steam locomotives and trains.

I'm a a freshman Student at Eastern Arizona College, my classes so far have been Automotive, Genealogy, and Fab Lab.

I am a collector of vintage machinery of just about every type, from vintage appliances to Typewriters and Vintage Gas Pumps. But my oldest hobby is trains, my great grandfather was a railroad worker and steam locomotive engineer. My most favorite Railroad is the Southern Pacific Lines, though I also love The Santa Fe, and Union Pacific as well. I'm currently helping with a Railroad Depot Preservation Project in New Mexico and I'm trying to get involved with helping cosmetically preserve a 1901 Southern Pacific Steam Locomotive in Globe AZ #1774. My most focused project right now is building a G Scale Trackless Train Ride out of a Craftsman 4000 riding lawn mower into a replica of Southern Pacific 1221 that's on display in Deming NM. But anyway I can't wait to share my dream project with everyone and I look forward to seeing what cool projects everyone has.

Hi Heber, and welcome to the Forum! We like pictures here, so you've ticked that box straight away. It sounds like you've got some plans and projects to keep us updated with, and plenty to keep you busy. There's a thread called 'What Happened at Your Workbench which you could post on, or create your own thread for your Pacific build...

Yes that's right, built in 1901 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. 1774 made many trips between Arizona and California not only for passenger and freight, but also pulling Troop Trains During World War II. She was later assigned to the Bowie AZ and Miami Line for the remainder of her service. After her retirement in 1956, she was donated to the City of Globe AZ and has been on static Display Since. Unfortunately the weather hasn't really been kind to her and she's Deteriorating slowly. I've been trying to get with the City of Globe AZ on any possible work that can be done, so far I've not been given any clear responses.

Put something on display, then plant bushes and trees in front of it.....:rolleyes:

Needs a shelter built, like we have in Klamath Falls...no doubt if you get the city fathers of Globe AZ to ax nicely, Oregon would be able to spare them a few feet of lumber out of the 209,000,000 board feet they dropped last year. :)
