First run along the new section of double track (completed today), over the realigned bridge, and into the new sidings.
Just before the crossover into the sidings, we are overtaken by the GWRR's exclusive express "The Westcoterie Limited".
Then the points are switched by main de [strike]chien[/strike] Dieu.
Sorry about the legs, it was rather hot!
Also sorry about the lack of interlocking (or whatever it's called) on the crossover.
A few seconds from the end SWMBO makes a cameo appearance.

Splendid stuff Hamish. I particular like the digital points with handraulic motors (sorry, couldn't resist....) :D
That's quite an engineering project you've completed. Will there be further developments from that tantalisingly poised point where the express overtakes?

My my what smooth track you have! Great job and Video but my god those legs!!!

You can really see the advantages of your track foundations - great. Some superb rolling stock too. I suppose the more trains you run, the fitter you become?

Great video.

Terrific !!!

Spot on Ham! Lovely smooth track.

Thanks guys!
There was me thinking that the apparently smooth ride was due to the camera's image stabilisation plus it sitting on a sprung bogie battery car.
Peter,
Yes, aren't I a tease with that crossover.
Eventually there will be double track all the way round, as and when Peco track deals come up.
The start is only temporary, with 16' more of trackbed ready.
It will move back to a proper crossover next to the junction up to the trainshed.

Nice work Hamish!

I particularly like how the new track appears to be of a slightly different appearance with regard to sleeper spacing/size and rail colour.

To me, it gives the impression of a single main line that has been recently doubled (which indeed, is so), and this really enhances that effect....

Crackin' video Grommit !
Couple of questions - what are you using for the trackbed at the start, it appears to be hollow ? and did you construct the bridges yourself ??
(apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere)

Thanks!
The trackbed is a ladder made from strips of 6x45mm upvc architrave trim, 2 strips per side with cross spacers held by stainless screws.
The bridges are homemade, again from upvc strip, this time it's 25mm angle.
