Last Winter I built the track round the 'top' of the garden.
This was a heavily engineered section, so it seemed sensible to make the cuttings and tunnel two tracks wide.
The relatively little extra effort involved saved having to rebuild and widen later.
You'll have seen this isolated trackwork in one of my cab-ride videos.
Well, over this last Winter work proceeded spasmodically to complete the section.
The left-hand 'top' end was straightforward, just 12 feet of track and ladder roadbed, plus 2 sets of points (1 homemade) to form the crossover.
The right-hand 'summerhouse' end was much more work, 40 feet of roadbed plus 12 feet of bridges, oh and two more homemade points.
Of course I could have used just one turnout at each end, but that would have given a very long passing loop, rather than a bit of double track!
Sorry no photos.
Must organise an open day soon.
Anyway, here's the video, starting from the remnant of last year's passing loop, and finishing by the daffodils -
