New depot for Los Garargos so far

Well almost finished now,after being laid up with the dreaded flu for 3 weeks I have nearly done it,just some more freight /baggage to make and a touch up with some paint in a few places,the case,briefcase and ashtray/ciggys and lighter on the table are scratch from plasticard square tube and sheet,paintings on the wall are originals(by me)to represent Monument Valley,wood in the bin is sliced balsa,lights are 16v Piko items to hitch up with the controller when in use as all the town is having the same lighting(when i can get outside again when it stops piggin` raining)and the outhouse speaks for itself,but only a box as SWMBO didn`t want me to move the figure(sitting) from where he located now.Next thing to do is some sort of platform and detail when the weather improves,the name boards are from the old depotSorry for the gaps in the walls but only laid together,all fit tightly when assembledthe end wall with the freight doors is fixed in place to position the walls properly.

Just a question,the Piko light fittings that are used in the building,one of the wires have come off the back of one of the unused units so just asking if anyone has taken one apart so can be re soldered as they seem to be sealed units,can always use as a spare bulb if all is lost,thanks for any help

Thought I would post the old depot that the new one is replacing,the location of the new one will be slightly different,bench/figures,station agent n chickens will be reused,the building to end up as a possible small diner

Los Garagos needs a new bigger depot,this was a job I was saving for the winter but while over at Glendale I picked up some roofing slate molding sheet and as was flimsy and a little fragile I decided to shelve the Connie mods(still have Field loco,oil depot and also a Delton caboose to finish) and start the new depot,I used the normal scribed plasticard wood effect for the walls and frames,View attachment 230789 the whole thing was sprayed with dark brown,then all the frames were masked out and then sand was lightly sprayed over to get the final colour but allows the base colour to "bleed" through just slightly,Before the glazing went in the inner walls were cut to size and the window openings marked and cut out,the glaze and the inner walls are all 40thou plasticard/clear and the glaze was cut to fit the openings so the inside window frames fit flush and the inner edge of the frames hold the glaze in place,experience has proved that glaze falls out if just glued in place if buildings left out all year as mine are,the roof tiles then added,laminated with 40 plasticard for strength together with internal supports with a coat of dark grey,still loads to do,second coat roof and tidy paintwork,smoke jack(s)stove,floor,blinds,internal fittings and furniture and some figures etc,the depot name boards will come from the old building,as for the original depot,,,to be moved and converted to another use.View attachment 230791
