MTS Convert

I recently bought a comprehensive LGB MTS package from one of the members here. I've just finished setting it up and programming 3 engines. Can I just say that I am totally converted to this means of control. Compared to my 16 year old Train Engineer, it's light and day. The package contained 2 x 55016, 1 x 55015 handsets & 2 wireless clip ins as well as the wireless receiver amongst much else. I bought a points decoder separately and it really is plug and play. I've had problems trying to fit 2 of the decoders to my Garratt (see another thread) but the ability to control individual engines is great.

Glad you are enjoying it .I too, started with the Train Engineer and it is very good in as much as it gave me walk around, cable free, control. I was lucky enough to pick up a second hand MTS setup several years ago. it does exactly what it says on the box. I had already acquired a sound fitted loco and the MTS control on that was excellent in my humble opinion.

Good to hear you like your MTS set! The difference when using DCC for the first time is quite amazing, I remember my beginning with an LGB digital starter set (with MTS II). I assume you have MTS III rather than II, which gives you the option of gradually expanding by adding a Massoth Navigator whould you ever feel the need to do so - but just using the MTS will give you a whole lot of fun! :)
