I picked up a used MTH Hudson last week. It has very good smoke and sound. The video here is it just on straight DC power, I've since got the remote working real good with it. Good sound all around. Note the smoke puffs with the engine chuffs.

Not sure how to attach a video here.

Like it....

I ordered some Mega-Steam smoke fluid to try out. I got the coal scented version. Seemed to work a little better and had a gray look to the smoke, but may have been my imagination! www.megasteam.com I think there is a UK dealer listed.

MTH are 1/32 but LGB produced a larger scale (1/29?) limited edition in conjunction with Aster a few years ago.
By a remarkable co-incidence I had an example of each for attention at the same time last year. They even sported the same running number!

Thanks Neil...I think that the LGB aster where possible 1/22.5 (or even 1:25) as the other Aster/LGB locos seem to have been made to that scale much like the Kiss jobbies.

There are some quite obvious detailing differences between those two models - which is more prototypical I wonder?

My money would be on the Aster to be more prototypical.....their models are really spot on

Its an impressive model Jerry - regardless of manufacturer!

The Hudson pulling some MTH passenger cars. Strong puller!

USA did a Hudson also, all metal, in 1/29th scale. Cost a lot more than this though.
