MOB LGB Advertising Gutterwagons

OK, Confession..........I have found myself becoming an obsessive collector of MOB LGB G scale Gutterwagons. !!!



Im managing to get them from fairs and online, I think I only need 3 more "official Lgb" versions, they have been obtained at quite reasonable prices (£49 to £60) as they dont fly off the shelves as my collecting obsession is "limited" probably to just me !

1) Cola (lgb 402283), (expensive as deemed a collector item )
2) Gataz Romang (LGB 41283) (just not seen one for a reasonable price)
3) Old Cardinal Beer (lgb 40284)...... (rare)

The Mob had many many more advertising cars in the 1980s and these have been catalogued thanks to the X-rail.ch website. my next project will be to create a new one not available or made by LGB. Bemo (Hom scale) created many more and thanks to Peter Brett keeping his website going while not trading Bemo anymore you can see some of the designer at the following link. Winco

So which one should I create for myself next and which one would you like to see ?? please help.

I have set Poll going on facebook (swiss model railway group) if your interested in helping please vote along.

The options are:
1) GK 501 Yoplait (93 version)
2) GK501 Swiss Life (95 version)
3) GK505 Sprite (88 version)
4) GK507 Coop (88 version)
5) GK513 Fanta (86 versions)
6) GK562 Pepsi (95 version)


I think my early preference would be the Sprite wagon re created



Or Maybe the Fanta



I have already committed to recreating the GK 527 Hazyland wagon as i just think its interesting, Im going to use a Nesquik Wagon to create these from, Nesquik NEVER featured as an Advertisement wagon on the MOB and it was just a "gimick/promo" item from LGB.

Just to bring an old thread back, is there a definitive list of Lgb MOB gk wagons?

I’ve been collecting these for a while, and just wondered how many more I need.

Lovely.
Really enjoyed the mob diesel and freight.

Never realized it, but i too have almost as many.
I dont mind the nesquick version, and i like the mienl cafe. Yellow, i guess.

I really liked the fanta version. Its rather similar in design to one i had fantasized about.

On my layout, with its less than dead level curves, i find these longer wheel base cars more finnicky.’

I suppose the closest I get to this is LGB German Beer Vans - I've probably got around a dozen, some with the high brakeman's cab and some without, they're very colourful and make an attractive rake.... I have no idea how many different ones have been made, and it's probably too risky to find out - I just buy them as and when I find them!

This is an actually finished as a RhB Wagon, though it is on an a MOB style body. LGB latter did a proper RhB version (on a RhB style body) as 40810

Your totally correct, I’m just attempting to list/document all the wagons in the shorter body style regardless of livery.

These new posts got me thinking, I need to revisit this anyway as its project that i have not had time to move with for a long while and its sitting in a box at the moment like many others.

But I dont think I have ever seen the LGB 40283 MOB Gk 530 for sale in the UK. seen plenty of Coca cola USA wagons about not his one. who has it out there in the UK ?

Seen 1 on eBay in the past 10 years, but could buy it at the time,

Grootspoor had one but was a mere 299 euros!

They are a very rare vehicle, would like to own one, but just can’t find one
