Miniature rivet heads

I have found another source of Nuts and Bolts. Made by Meng with varying sizes available, can be got from Amazon but sundry truck model shops list them . A bit trickier to remove from the plastic sheet, can see some blood letting here. Acording to Model Rail you need to slice them off the sheet with a good new scalpel blade then give a light clean. Mostly they tend to be putting them onto plastic with a small wash of liquid adhesive. However I would be using cyro, with a splodge on some scrap plastic. Pick the bolt head up with a fine set of tweezers, dab in the cyro and then put in place.

When I scratchbuilt some rolling stock I used PECO track pins, suitably trimmed lengthwise. I used one (with the head cut off) in my drill to make the holes. Might be a little large for your purposes though.

As this thread has sprung to life again recently, I'll give a brief update (although without spoiling the outcome). I followed up David's suggestion in #11 and the order duly arrived. Meanwhile, browsing the internet something else had caught my eye and was followed up. All will be revealed in the near future in a new thread.

By far and away the most rivet heads that I have ever applied to a model were the 602 that went to make up the scratch built bogie well wagon to carry my Burrell Showman's Engine
