I have made the decision to convert my switch machines from EPL to Masterline. My EPL machines have been giving me some minor headaches in the way of not fully pushing or pulling the points to their final position. Even with two switch machines controlling one switch there has been some difficulty. I checked the voltage to them at around 19-20 volts AC, but I am not getting the operation I would like consistantly.
The Masterline machines operate slowly and give a more positive force to the points. The only thing I found about them is that the extra plug supplied is difficult to solder wires to, as the pins are delicate. So I came up with my own solution as shown. I used 1/16" copper tubing and soldered the wires to the inside of the tubing. Then slipped the bent tubes over the switch machines pins, which are more robust than the pins on the plug.
