Good morning all
I note that Massoth is offering LONG rail clamps . . .
Not only is there a typo on their site (I believe it should say 39mm rather than 9mm), I also seem to recall them being earlier than 2023 (though maybe this is a re-issue "with improvements").
My garden is on clay, so my line is prone to movement (sometimes getting longer ** and sometimes shorter again). Once the gap between rail ends becomes too great, I have taken to adding a very short piece of rail (in case it moves the other way and can be removed again), and fixing this with two rail clamps. The longer clamps would be a tidier way to deal with these locations. The problem I have is that the Massoth clamps are made to fit LGB (etc) rail, and much of my line uses Tenmille track. I have found a way to make Hillman clamps (for LGB rail) work on Tenmille rail but don't know whether the same approach would work with Massoth clamps. I'm therefore reluctant to splash out over £50 to buy 20 in case the method doesn't work . . . so I was wondering if anyone had already bought a bag of 20 but only used a few of them, and could be persuaded to sell me one or two?
** but not to the extent that I can ask my passengers to pay higher fares!
