Very nice imagesThe EOR was originally a Great Eastern line, but later became part of the Central Line. It was electrified until closed by London Transport. An example of '38
tube stock can be seen at North Weald. Note the smaller loading gauge of tube stock compared to the EMU behind it....

Lovely pictures Gizzy/Mizzy. The EOR, is certainly a line with an interesting history. In the early '90's the station house at Ongar had a cafe that did a great English breakfast. I went to one of the EOR gala days a few years back, loved the heritage bus service they ran in conjunction with it for access from Epping LU station. Talking to the signalman on duty at Ongar on the day he suggested that apparently the only thing stopping the EOR developing a 4 rail electric system to run on, like the LU, was the area's regional electricity co's insistence that the EOR would not/could not have the experience to do so. I wonder if that attitude can be changed. The EOR was originally a Great Eastern line, but later became part of the Central Line. It was electrified until closed by London Transport. An example of '38

Living in GWR country what looks wrong is a 45xx not only in red but with an air pump.I don't know why, but a class 20 in that livery, just looks 'wrong' to me..
But then I have always lived 'North of Watford' so only very occasionally stray into LT land..
Great pictures. The tube stock is 59 stock built to a similar design to the 38.The EOR was originally a Great Eastern line, but later became part of the Central Line. It was electrified until closed by London Transport. An example of '38
