Litium ion battery packs Help please.

Hi folks due to irish weather I'm thinking of going down the battery route ,now with brexit here,where else can I sourse litium 18v packs and chargers ,anyone any knowledge on this please.....
 
Strikalite do not do a great deal in Lithium packs for railway use.

By all means ask them though..

I would also question whether you need 18 volts? - What loco's are you running??
You may well find a 3S or 4S pack is adequate for your needs.

Also worth looking at the bigger RC car/aircraft sellers. - The selection of battery packs available is mind-boggling.

I bought my first battery (3S) and charger from Micron, however I have pur batteries from Hobby King who have an enormous range of sizes, volts, amps and physical sizes.
 
I have a double LGB powered Mallett that has 12 NiMh AA in for a voltage of around 14 volts. This is plenty for power and running time of around 4 hours. AA rechargeable ought to be easier to source if you have issues finding Lion. If course depends on what you are trying to power, but any battery size in the range of 12v ought to be more than adequate. I think we get hung on the DCC and other Voltages applied for not just conversion and signal (DCC) and normal DC, once you are into battery the voltage needs not be so high as there are fewer chances for voltage drop than with long wire tuns and possibly dodgy rail joints that we experience with Track Power.

In which case, you may well find it easier to fit (say) an 8-cell NiMH pack?

Easier to source. Simpler to charge..
If you were to choose the hybrid 'Eneloop' batteries you will get 1.5V per cell.
