Lighting a Piko 62041 Rosenbach signal box

Decided to take a pragmatic approach by using a spare deck light and fitting flush to the upper floor of the signal box with cable fed through from underneath to the garden lights (Seal Designs). Required taking a hole-saw to the upper floor but when cleaned up the deck light popped in perfectly. Ok so it’s a floor light rather than a ceiling light but it works for me. It means when The garden lights come on ( deck and spots) the buildings light up too.

Whys that, would it keep them awake :D .
In old style signal boxes he needed to see the train go by and confirm that a tail light was present and lit. Looking out of a bright lit room very tricky. In a modern power box possibly less of an issue but these days tis all computer screens with few views out of a window.
