Generally I find eBay's customer service to be poor. It takes a long time to try to explain something to them through the live chat for them to understand. However, each chat has a 30 minute time limit on it, so you are either redirected or cut off at that point.
Recently had a user bid on an item and then not pay for it. A very quick look at his recent feedback showed that he had been doing this for weeks. Consequently, I was put in quite an amount of debt through final value fees, and had to go through the unpaid item process to reclaim them which took a number of days. The user (sobe4612) is still active and still actively bidding on random items without paying for them.
I have absolutely no idea why anyone would willingly do this, however I do know that eBay are perfectly happy with such behaviour. My concern is that if an automated user could be set up in such a way, unless people claimed their fees back then 10% of these unpaid items would automatically go to eBay, leading me to believe it may be a scam on their part.
It is also worth double checking your monthly invoices when listing items as eBay seem to conveniently forget that you have listed things under the £1 listing fee promotion. Instead, you are charged the full 10% despite having clicked the link to opt in to the promotion and following the set guidelines.
