lgb point motors spring back

I have just set up my 1st set of LGB points with LGB point motor 1201. Are the motors supposed to have a spring back like on the manuals, for example the train goes over them in the one direction they change to the opposite direction and not spring back. i was woundering if this was correct? as this sometimes derails some of the lighter trucks.

No, they are designed to stay in the direction they were pushed to, but it is alot better to have them set for the track that the train is running on.
Sorry, should make that clearer, they don't operate like the spring loaded points.

They 'lock' in the postition as set and are not 'springy' like manual point levers.

I only use the motors on facing points....

Further to the topic of LGB points, I was shown a while back how to make them self-isolating so that section switches aren't necessary to isolate a siding for loco parking. Unfortunately I didn't make notes at the time; can anyone remind me how to go about it?
(Hasn't the weather been nice? Got my new waterfall working, planted some more trees and repaired a fair amount of frost damage. Might even get a train running soon).

Thants not going to work. If you cut the links - true - you will isolate the siding - but also, you will never get power into it unless you run another feed - and in that case they would not be SELF isolating.
