LGB MTS vMassoth decoupler⁸

Hi folks, Fitting a Massoth decoupler to something equipped with a Massoth emotion XLS is just easy plug and play but I have hit a problem with a 2nd hand LGB Corpet Louvet. It is equipped with a LGB MTS decoder. There is a 3 pin socket but plugging the decoupler into that has produced nothing - nothing good and mercifully nothing bad.
Any of you clever burgers out there able to help this ancient newbie/dummy.
The last time I had model trains Triang was king and DCC didn't exist so be gentle, gents!

Thanks for the detailed response. I think I may have misidentified the decoder though

Looks like a large LGB Onboard decoder. The "F1-Ausgang" has the F1, + and - pins, I guess that one can be used. It's the white socket to the left which is not in use.
