Both decoders have been responding to the function buttons OK . I now find I can only use Function 9 to turn the headlights On and Off all other button's do not work. When I press any button other than 9 . it is acknowledged that I have pressed a button on my Piko Navigator .with the number 1 coming on. The sound and the engine work OK .

Lights are usually on 0 not 9 ?
Lights are part of the driving controller and as you say they work, it may indicate that your sound board is not co-operating. Have you switched the sound off? Not familiar with Pheonix so I don't know what key number that would be.

Have you changed the address at all? - Quite often, if this is done with both decoders powered, one of them does not 'take' the new address.

Is there a biased toggle switch fitted anywhere for volume?
Is the 3.5mm programming jack accessible?

Have you let the loco sit on a powered track for 20 minutes? - The Phoenix boards have a rechargeable battery.. If the loco has been stored for any length of time, this may need a considerable time to charge.

You do not have a key to turn the sound off on a Phoenix.. There may be a key(s) to adjust the volume. - Do you have a list of what the functions were/are supposed to be?

Hi Thanks for your input. The 55027 decoder has a Cab Light connected to F13 Rear Tender Marker lights connected to F14 Firebox Light connected to F15 and an Engine Marker light Connected to F16 the marker lights are directional and all worked fine yesterday from the function Buttons. . The Tender has the Sound Decoder connected to track power from track pick ups functions F1 to F12 are assigned to the sound decoder and all worked fine yesterday . I have tested the Engine only no Tender on a Test track The Head lights work on F9 F13-F16 do not work The navigator just show a lighted F1 when I press any of these buttons .The Tender sound works also when placed on the test track by itself but I can not activate any sound buttons The navigator shows the same light on F1 the sound is working can't select whistle Bell - ECT . I did have a short circuit and had to rest the navigator after a derailment before the trouble started. I had lost the Settings in the navigator for the Mogul after the derailment and had to re-enter them in the navigator and OK them . The navigator is working OK as I can operated other locos with it. Thanks Again

Try changing the address to 'something else'.. Run the loco, and put it back to what you want. - This is different to setting the address to the SAME as it is now.. Seems to refresh things.
Same for tender / sound card.. See if you can control sounds on a different address?

Hi All
I found my problem I had to change the navigator settings for some reason the Series Function was set on the navigator and I did not notice once I changed it back to Parallel .every thing is back to normal must have changed after my derailment. Thanks Again

Excellent. often the simple things that fool us.

Must admit I was going to say it sounded like a serial/parallel function issue when I first saw the thread.
