LGB Gearbox Contact Strips

Good Afternoon,

I'm after either a pair of contact strips or complete gearbox bottom from an LGB 2078 Corpet-Louvet Tank. The strips are the ones that connect the pick-up brushes on each side of the chassis and then connect with the motor pick-ups. I've just purchased a second-hand 2078 chassis that had I presume been converted to battery operation as the pick-up skates have also been removed. This gearbox was also used on other LGB locos such as the 2062 Industrial Shunter.

Many thanks,

Tony.

Although it's not marked on the motor block, I'm pretty sure it is - unless someone knows different! It's an older version as it only has three connections appearing out of the top of the motor block (i.e. pre DCC ready days) and it is in the 4 number series (2078) before LGB moved to a 5 number series.

Regards,

Tony.

A good point, do the contact strips differ between the "D" (4-pin) and "pre-D" (3 pin) sandwich gearboxes?

Yes due to the bending as the three wire block the left-hand one goes towards the middle of the motor block and not straight to the motor like the right hand one..
on a four wire block both pick up strips bend inwards and miss the motor contacts and this is were the two separate feed come down.
