LGB 611000 R1 Curved Roadbed?

I’ve noticed that the LGB 611000 Roadbed for R1 Curves are very scarce and don’t show up in online searches for either brand new or second hand. Even looking back on completed sales. nothing shows up. Is there are particular reason for this rarity? Other track sections are readily available. I presume that LGB has stopped producing them.

My plan is to use these as part of the Christmas Tree layout this year so that the track looks more realistic on top of the snow. Yes, I know, I said "realistic" as part of a holiday display

I believe the roadbed has been out of production for many many years, at least (I think) before I moved here in 2012. I got some from a member of this forum and upon the realisation that I could not easily get any more sold it on.

That's what I figured. Probably the straights (not as needed for circle loops) and R3 curves (too wide) aren't as critical as the R1 curves (for the exact same reason I'm trying to find them are) so those are prized possessions and rarely make public auction appearances. I'll just keep hunting and see how long it takes.

The LGB trackbed was an excellent concept (minimised the deposit of black carbon from LGB motor blocks onto carpets on temporary indoor track layouts) manufactured by a German company whose main product was track overlay for use on military tanks to minimise damage to road surface. But the the product was overpriced and shortly after the introduction to the market the manufacturer failed and the unsellable stock contributed to the bankruptcy of Lehman during the then financial crisis. Hence its unavailability to this day.
