Lgb 26846 green sachsen Kiv smoke unit question

I have the green sachsen.
Factory Mfx.




I am perplexed by the pulsed smoke unit.
I am running MTS3.
My other lgb pulsed locos work fine.(sachsen kI)
This loco sporadically smokes when i turn on the smoke.
Sometimes it operates normally, pulsing at slow, spewing at higher speeds.
Then, it will stop.
Sometimes if i reverse, it will come back on, sometimes properly, sometimes only for a short period.
Sometimes ill get nothing, but then at full throttle it may come back on.
Does anyone else have a problem similar to this with a factory pulse unit?
Theres adequate smoke fluid.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'm wondering if it is something to do with running a Maerklin loco on MTS.

I have a similar Saxon Meyer loco, which runs fine on 3 different Massoth 1200Z units....

My other black saxon meyer kiv with pulsed also runs fine, as does the non-pulsed saxon meyer
kiv, both maerklin…..

Hmm, maybe a CV setting?

Or perhaps a dodgy connection on the smoke unit....

As a follow up, and thanks to a forum member, ive learned that the smoke units sometimes have condensation at the stack throat. This blocks stack smoke.
Solution, blow into the stack, condensation is cleared, smoke works!
