OK, I can understand the going to the pub, watching your team get beat and coming home to run trains, I'm with you all the way on that. BUT inviting crumpet to sit around in front of an open bonfire!!!???? Why this is just going TOO far. You'll get us all a bad name ........................ like Wolves. :crying::crying::crying::crying:

:rolf: :rolf: :rolf: :rolf: Bang on there Mel.

I'ts not even like we will get to be beat by wolves next year, looks like it will be the mighty "Cod army"!!! for us. You are the master Mel I can only try  If I can crack this not having to go to work lark and making models that look like they are real I'll be there. Still, practice make perfect, maybe Lithuanian and Latvian next time

Anyway off to canoe and fish for a few hours. Trains later:bigsmile:

Evening orl. Had a day off work today and with nowt else going on I decided to run a train but further progress was halted by a visit from Mr D :bigsmile::bigsmile: It can be a hard life :bigsmile:
There's been a little bit of progress lately and I got some grass for my birthday. The railbus ran for the first time since I got it too!!, piccys :-

Good to see such progress and evidence of renewed enthusiasm.
Regarding the biscuits, maybe that was because someone else ate all the cake! :rolf::rolf::rolf:

More than welcome anytime Mark. It's always nice to get visitors. Pm me if you want my number and address, best to check I'm in first!

Really like that point work and those diamond crossings at the station throat mate.

Has a real 'Main Line' look about it....

Quality of garden ornaments has deteriorated somewhat. (No offence to Billy!).

Quality of railway improving all the time, as is quality of photography- some brilliant photos in that lot, especially the waterside ones.

i really like what youve done-and im inspired, not only by the bench work concept but also the use of the artificial turf-
great work -nice looking lad too, great to see enthusiasm and interest and participation-not to mention tolerance and good humor of being photographed

cant however, fathom, how you , being in the UK, could possibly chose to drink budweiser,
not only do you have the best beer in the world, generally speaking,
but bud, :'(

the US offers some incredible small breweries now-

havent bought typcial US beer in....decades
not even Coors

Thanks for the kind words Steve. Our Billy loves it, it's his enthusiasim that give me the kick I need sometimes. I really enjoy playing trains with him. There's not an original idea there!

I'm really chuffed with the way it's turned out. As for the fake grass, if you had told me even just 2 years ago that I would entertain the stuff I would have laughed you back to the States! However one thing I have learnt over the (slightly troubled) time I (my family) has had over the last two years or so is never to say never!!

I hang my head in shame over the Budwiser. Sorry to let you down. Another thing that has changed over the last few years is my taste! I am most definately a real ale fan and agree 100% that we have the best beer in the world (that I have tried so far) however I have gone off bottled "beer" of the "proper" type I find it too fizzy, not even too keen on bottle conditioned beer anymore either. Once upon a time I would have never contemplated a bottled lager. Now I find I have a much more varied palete as well as being more picky grumpy and intollerent of numptys. Please forgive my transgression as, since the rael ale shop, you know the one, on Lovat road, closed I'm unable to obtain any flaggans of "Porters Sunshine" , Wetherards SPA" or similar. I have however tried a few bottles of somthing or other from California from a smaller brewer that were very nice and have some genuine Czech Budwiser amongst other eastern european beers here to try.

Thanks for pointing out the error of my ways. I have a large glass of Polish Vodka with me now (hence the loooooooooong reply. I shall drink to yours, and everyone elses health.

Na zdrowia i dobranoc, Hic!

and me to yours later tonite when i meet the ms for dinner
were having rather english weather today, something i love because its so infrequent, a fine drizzle -cold and likely to last a day or two-highly unusual for Colorado -that is, rain lasting more than an hour or so
good for the garden and my new plantings
wreaks havoc on the rails with mud spatter though-bet it wouldnt with nice ballast and turf

we're in for a drought this summer-ill enjoy what green i can get until probably late june mid july at latest

polish vodka...very pleasant indeed
nasdrovia -same in russian
all the best

Busy day today but still managed to do a little to the railway. Bit more grass sorted (with lift up tunnel roof) and more work on the beach. It looked passable this morning but has since washed away a little bit.:crying: May need a plan B ;)
