led strip lights

Good price.
Note...they are WHITE 'nd bright. Probably too harsh a white for coaches.
might give them a dab of yellow paint to dim them down if they turn up

Well postman pat shoved em through me letter box yesterday.

Not quite as discribed only 16 led and a bit shorter but for the money very good they come with about 15" of wire attached. self adhesive but be carefull once stuck they are stuck.

I have run one on a 9v cell for over 12 hrs and showing no signs of flatness yet will check it in the morning.
I have also run them of the digital track with a rectifier as they are DC only and they worked but get very hot so i think life span will be very short. but with a resistor in line they will be spot on.

The light output is very bright at 24v and a bit dim at 9v. Also it has a blueish tint but nothing i cannot live with.

Also i found out they are a bit brittle when cold and snap easily but you can cut the every 3rd led.

Once i have found a resistor i will take a photo but at less than £5 a coach including diodes and resistors postage etc i will be fitting them through out my fleet.

Pictures as promised.

Sorry Ross just opened your pm, I have no idea about leds, I run on LGB MTS so I would need to put a battery into each coach, I have 3 Harz coaches so what are my requirements? Comments please Les

Morning Ross and Phil, I don't have any pick-up wheels so will put the batteries on Kieth shopping list for Lidl as I don't drive, I have been on your site Ross I never knew there was such a number of leds. I have some small on/off switches from my O guage days so they should do ok? Les

Ironic isnt it!!
---------------------

A few months back I offered a load of these LED strip lights in the private sales, no one was interested so I eventually gave them away except for a couple or so I kept back for 0n30 building lighting!

My experience of them in coaches was good............ easily fitted easily connected to ball bearing wheel pickups direct connection no other circuitry required worked fine with both MTS & Massoth voltages.

Inidentally i have one strip wired up to the out put of my MRC digital unit on the 0n30 in the garage to remind me when the power has been left on by mistake!!
